Radio program on Boym
On Sunday, December 12th at 6 pm, Vice-president of the Foundation, Mrs Agnieszka Couderq-Kubas was invited by a journalist, Ms Magdalena Piejko, to speak about Michal Boym in "Cultural Conversation", a program of the Polish Radio, the Polish national radio channel.
During the program, Agnieszka Couderq-Kubas spoke about Boym`s great achievements in the area of geography, culture and nature. She described his ground-breaking input into European understanding of the Chinese traditional medicine which has its roots in the oldest Chinese medical book, "The Yellow Emperor`s Canon of Internal Medicine", whose translation and interpretation was done by Boym in his work "Medicus Sinicus". This work, initially published in 1682 under someone else`s name, was finally published only four years later under the name of its true author.
